Practical info
The logistics, so you only have to think about the week itself. If your question isn't here, book 15 minutes with a founder.
Getting there
When should my flights land and leave?
Aim to land at Colombo airport by 9am on Sunday 27 December, so we can all take the coastal train to Galle together. On Sunday 3 January, book a flight that leaves Colombo after 8pm. We stop at Galle Fort on the way to the airport.
How much are flights?
From Bengaluru, Delhi and most Indian cities, expect about INR 35,000 to 45,000 return over New Year. Prices climb from November, so earlier is better.
Do I need a visa?
Everyone needs an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before flying. It is free for Indian passport holders and 39 other nationalities, and approval usually takes a day. We'll help you apply once your seat is confirmed. Your passport needs at least six months of validity from 27 December.
How do we get around?
The coastal train from Colombo to Galle on day one, then our own van and driver for the rest of the week. Both are included.
Money
What does it cost?
INR 95,000 / USD 999 per person, sharing a room. That covers the villa, 21 meals, the train, the van, 12 guided sessions, 2 day trips, 7 local experiences and your workbook. Flights and travel insurance are not included.
How do I pay?
INR 20,000 / USD 300 reserves your seat once we've spoken and confirmed you. The balance is due by 10 December 2026. We'll send payment details directly, in rupees or dollars.
What if I can't come after paying?
The INR 20,000 deposit is non-refundable once your seat is confirmed, because it secures the villa. If you've paid the balance and something comes up, talk to us. If we ever have to cancel the retreat ourselves, you get everything back.
The stay
Where exactly is it?
A private beachfront villa on the south coast, just east of Tangalle. We share the exact address with confirmed guests.
Will I share a room?
Yes, rooms are shared. If there's someone you'd like to share with, tell us on our call. Otherwise we'll pair people thoughtfully and let you know before we fly.
What will we eat?
A cook stays with us all week and makes most of our 21 meals, mostly Sri Lankan with plenty of variety. On day trips, we eat out together. Tell us about any dietary needs on our call and we'll plan around them.
What will the weather be like?
Late December is dry season on the south coast. Expect warm, sunny days around 30°C, a sea you can swim in, and cooler evenings by the fire.
The week
Is this therapy, or a wellness retreat?
Neither. No gurus and no compulsory sunrises. It's a well-run week of guided conversations, reflection, good food and travel, hosted by two people who have run over 70 leadership and growth spaces.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Most people will. The first two days are designed so that by the bonfire on day three, the group feels like people you know.
How active is it?
Gentle. A climb of a few hundred steps at Mulkirigala, a nature walk, a boat trip and a jeep safari. If you can walk for an hour, you'll be fine. Tell us on our call if anything needs planning around.
Will we definitely see whales, turtles and elephants?
Every activity happens as planned. What shows up is up to nature. Late December is a good season for whales off Mirissa, Udawalawe is known for its wild elephants, and turtles come ashore at Rekawa through most of the year, but no one can promise a sighting on a given day.
Do I have to join every session?
No. Every session is an invitation. If you need a morning to yourself, take it.
What should I pack?
Light cotton clothes, swimwear, a hat and reef-safe sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, a light layer for the boat and the evenings, any medication you need, and a notebook you like writing in. We bring the rest.
